“There’s nothing you can make that can’t be made, no one you can save that can’t be saved, nothing you can do but you can learn how to be in time, it’s easy” lyrics from song, “All You Need is Love” by the Beatles

Today we had the privilege of serving 44 people.

  • Today was another busy Saturday morning.  On one of our stops, we ran into our friends (Amy/Jay).  (Amy) was visibly upset and had been crying.  When she was questioned about what was going on she replied, “I want out of this craziness”.  She had nothing in her system to quell the battle inside of her.  We suggested she go into full-time treatment, but she was not in agreement with this.  Sometimes our friends want to put a band-aid on a major wound thinking it will stop the major bleeding of their soul.  When speaking to (Jay) we asked if she was yelling at him when we pulled up and he replied, “yes until we arrived”.  He is just collateral damage of the inner rage (Amy) was dealing with.  We also suggested they talk to Peg at L Street.
  • On one of our stops there were a few people at first, and then we were surrounded by about 20 people.  Trying to meet everyone’s needs when there are this many people can be difficult, but we managed to please most of our old and new friends with some extra help from Rosaleen who came with Kathy and I this morning.
  • We ran into a new friend (Rosie) who was near our friends (Doug/Dave/Ray).  We asked where she was from; she said originally from the North Shore.  When asked how she ended up here she told us of being physically and emotionally abused as a child, in and out of programs since then.  She kept asking us if we had any coffee and we told her we didn’t but gave her our packet of $10 bill/$10 Dunkin Donuts card/prayer card and pointed her in the direction of a Dunkin Donuts the next block over.  Her eyes lit up.  She had a set of rosary beads and a medal of our Blessed Mother around her neck.  We hugged her.
  • On our last stop we ran into our friends (Debbie/Rylee).  They are usually with (Mike) but he got picked up on an outstanding warrant last week.  We fixed them up with clothes and snacks along with our packet.  Sweatpants and hoodies were in big demand with the nights getting colder.

“Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me?  Up to seven times/”. Matthew 18:31 NIV
