“I know your life on earth was troubled, and only you could know the pain. You weren’t afraid to face the devil; you were no stranger to the rain”. Lyrics from song, “Go Rest High on That Mountain” by Vince Gill

Today, we had the privilege of serving 28 people.
- We never know what awaits us when we first hit the street in the early morning. We ask God to use us as a vessel for His infinite love, and the strength to carry out His and Jim’s and Terry’s mission.
- We ran into our friends (Shane, Kathy, James). James is in rough shape. He was talking about an EKG he needed to get into treatment which he got done this week. They seemed to be all in agreement about going into treatment. We think that this new motivation came from two of them getting arrested over the past week. Sitting in jail will sometimes give them a brief window to review their lives with nothing in their system, and being sick from withdrawal can be a great motivator to change…we hope! We gave them our packet of $10 bill/$10 Dunkin Donuts card/prayer card, Gatorade, water, socks, underwear, tee shirts, snacks, sneakers.
- The owners of the building with the awning where a lot of our friends sleep, put up a tall chain link fence to keep them away from the property. We wrote about the ongoing changing landscape of our friends, moving from doorways to alleys to small patches of grass until they become an eyesore to the city. There are services offered to our friends provided by the L Street Mission (meals, clothing, counseling, etc.), along with Peg from Plymouth County Outreach. Sadly, they never follow up with these vital services.
- We ran into our friend (Jenny), a veteran of the street. Her communication skills are limited, but lately she has allowed us to hug her. We do tell our friends we love them and pray for them. Prayer is the biggest tool we can offer to our friends.
- On our last stop, our friend (Jay) thanked us for still caring about them. Hearing this from our friends is the bright spot in our mornings.
God Bless,
Claire and Shaun Teed and Tito
