“Hey God, it’s me, I’ve been lost a little while, Walkin’ all these miles and I’m in need of some direction ‘Cause down here it’s gettin’ hard, I have been searchin’ near and far, Help me believe” lyrics from song, “Wait for Me” by Zach Williams.

Between Thursday and Saturday, we had the privilege of serving 43 people.
- I ran into some new friends on Thursday near a shopping plaza (Leslie, Dave, Paul). They were standing looking to catch the eye of a stranger who might give them some loose change or a couple of bucks. Some of our friends are ashamed to ask for money; they let their eyes tell the story of their needs. They were very grateful when I pulled up to them and asked if they could use some help. When I held up our packet of $10 bill/$10 Dunkin Donuts card/prayer card, their eyes lit up and their expressions made it all worth it.
- This Saturday was very busy, word is out about what we are handing out on Saturdays. We were talking to our friend (Debbie) who was complaining about being in the hospital because of elevated liver enzymes. When we pressed her on it, she was in denial that her lifestyle had anything to do with this.
- One of our usual spots is getting popular again which means we will need to switch locations for a little while. But at this spot our friend (Mike) kept apologizing for a friend he had with him the last time we saw him who was very demanding which caused us to pick up and leave suddenly. We assured him there is no need to apologize, but what struck me was he was clutching a cup with change in it like it was locked into his swollen hand without realizing it.
- At our next stop our friend (Kathy) was so weak she could not stand for any length of time. We are worried for her. She is skin and bones. Any mention of going to the hospital to get checked out gets shrugged off.
- There are a couple of new friends also at this spot (Mary, Kathleen). We fixed them up with sweatpants, coats, sweatshirts, snacks and our packet. We gave (Mary) a backpack because she was trying to fit everything into a small bag. (Kathleen) was complaining that she got a tent from someone and it was stolen shortly after. We gave her a tent we had. (Mary) was very young and we got the feeling from her dress and appearance that she most likely will have to do unimaginable things to get money. Anyone who knows street life knows that this is not uncommon.
“The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.” Psalm 23:1
