“Here I am, Lord, Is it I, Lord? I have heard you calling in the night. I will go, Lord, if you lead me, I will hold your people in my heart.” Lyrics from song, “Here I am Lord” ( Dedicated to Katie DeAngelo)

Today, we had the privilege of serving 35 people.
- Today was a good day meeting new friends and our old friends. We were very happy to hear our friend (Annie) moved into a halfway house. I spoke to her Sunday on the phone, and she sounds great. God moves in mysterious ways through prayer. We were able to give (Jay) clothes to take to her, along with giving him a few extra bucks to take the train to see her.
- With the warmer weather coming we worry our friends may convince themselves it’s not so bad outside and put off seeking any type of help. I remember a guy saying, “What’s the big deal? I have a roof over my head”. (He was living in an abandoned car).
- We ran into our friend (Ray) who moves all over the city, sleeping in different doorways. We found him asleep in a covered doorway in front of a building. We woke him up and fixed him up with sweatpants, socks, tee shirts, Gatorade, water. We got into a conversation about one of the public parking garages he was sleeping in. He was constantly being kicked out of this garage, so he decided with little the money he had, he would pay the $3.00 for a parking space which created quite a fire storm. People coming into the garage to park their cars would walk by him without looking at him. He commented to one person “Just because you don’t look at me doesn’t mean I am invisible; your part of humanity breaks my heart”. So he decided to call himself M.I. for “man invisible” which he posted on Facebook. Liz said, “you are not invisible to us”.
- We ran into a bunch of our friends and were able to give out a lot of socks, tee shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, and our packet of $10 bill/$10 Dunkin Donuts card/prayer card.
- We ran into a new friend (Josie) who had on a sweatshirt that said on the back, “Rain or Shine We Are Here” which was an advertisement for a company. It got me to thinking that our friends are out on the street, rain or shine, trying to get through another day.
- We want to thank My Brother’s Keeper for donating small hygiene bags that Eastern Bank donated to them. There were so many of them we were able to give some to L Street Mission and to Peg from Plymouth County Outreach.
God Bless,
